Jim Mauchly

“Capturing images of our memories.”

Mountain Graphics Photography now holds FAA 333 Exemption No. 15532, for commercial aerial photography and video utilizing an sUAV. Drone photography in Vermont and New Hampshire, from professional photographers.

Jim Mauchly’s passion for photography came at the young age of seven when he received his first camera. Mauchly’s experiences include landscapes, portraiture, and business photography. Currently developing his photography collection as a fine artist, Mauchly aspires to reveal and preserve the beauty of creations often missed by the casual observer. Mauchly’s techniques are often focused on the study and capture of light through a photographic lens. His exploration of light as it illuminates from a landscape or a single object has allowed him to discover and share a unique perspective.

Mauchly has been a full-time photographer since 1990. During the 1990s, he worked as a freelance photographer for a variety of studios and commercial clients in southern New Hampshire and Colorado. He was the sole employee of a start-up company pioneering in digital photography techniques in the early 90's. In 2001, he opened Mountain Graphics Photography, a professional studio, photo gallery and custom frame shop in Fairlee, Vermont. His areas of expertise include commercial photography (aerials, site and architectural images, and products), portraits (on location or in the studio), and events (from weddings to corporate conferences). Mauchly’s ability to put people at ease—combined with 35 years of experience in a broad spectrum of photography—helps him to produce powerful images that tell a story and capture the mood of the subjects, the setting, and the day. He worked weekends assisting a wedding photographer in high school. After high school Mauchly enlisted in the United States Navy, for the sole purpose of attending photography school where he received training in photojournalism, aerial photography, and portraiture as well as dark room and printing skills and techniques. For the next decade he continued to shoot weddings, primarily on weekends for local portrait studios. Mauchly currently resides in Fairlee, VT and is developing his fine art photography collection while continuing to do portraits and commercial photography.
